Cookies

SnappinQuiz uses a small number of cookies and similar local-storage entries. This page lists every one of them, what they do, and which require your consent.

Essential — always set

These cookies are required for the application to function. They cannot be turned off via the consent banner because the application would not work without them.

  • Auth session — issued by Supabase when you sign in. Without it, you would have to log in on every page.
  • NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your chosen interface language (English / German).
  • theme — remembers your chosen colour scheme (light / dark / system).

Optional analytics — only set if you accept

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we set the following entries:

  • ph_'<key>'_distinct_id — a random per-browser identifier used to group your sessions. Never linked to your name or email unless you are signed in AND have enabled analytics in your account settings.
  • ph_'<key>'_window_id, ph_'<key>'_session_id — short-lived identifiers grouping events within one tab / one session.

How to control these

The Manage cookie preferences button below re-opens the consent banner so you can change your choice. Account-level analytics are toggled separately in Settings → Privacy.
